BRIEFING
This page will give you a transparent peek into my war plans for no purpose other than to help hold me more accountable. I also just like to keep my inner circle informed on what I’m up to as I always have many irons in the fire.
Through these reports, I will reveal to you some (not all) of the major goals and objectives I am pushing toward in both my personal life and my business endeavors.
War Planning is what I call my planning system and the process behind it. I do it every day in some capacity but the reports I will share here with you will always be quarterly-based updates.
In each of these reports, I will provide a recap of the previous quarter’s results and a projection of the foreseeable future.
SITREP
Damn, another 3 months gone just like that! Ya know, as much as Gary Vee likes to preach patience, and while I am an advocate for it, we really don’t have an abundance of time to execute on our goals when you factor out how much of it we have to waste on dumb shit. Anyway, Q1 presented some challenges for us but we made it out alive. We had a couple seperate bouts of sickness run through the fam that lingered for awhile, multiple grandparents in and out of the hospital, and a very unexpected and unfortunate death in the fam. Despite all this, we still made it out with decent productivity for this quarter.
Three things that have dramatically helped me increase my output and manage more things with more efficiency.
- The Warrior Operating System – My 1 stop total life command center. I manage my entire life from this one system. Tasks, schedule, projects, journal, finances, music, business, contacts, goals, etc… Literally everything. We fall to the level of our systems, so if you don’t have one, you’re likely going to fall hard and fast into a pit of hardship that’s incredibly difficult to climb out of. My life got exponentially better ever since the day I deployed this system and started actually using it relentlessly. You should check it out here.
- Open AI Chat GPT Subscription – I’m currently still just a plus plan user, but my sights are on the pro plan for the future. If you’re not aware of GPT already you should probably come out from under the rocks and get yourself in gear because AI is here to stay and anyone not at least leveraging it will be left in the dust. I have found GPT to be exceptionally helpful for assistance in content, data analysis, creative projects, and so much more. I have been utilizing the task automations you can setup with it for some unique things such as a daily briefing with relevant and dynamic news each day, reminders and open projects, a daily affirmation, etc. I’ve also been using it for a daily “message from god” it generates a cool graphic and gives me a daily scripture based lesson that’s relevant to the struggles I’m actively working through. There’s a handful of other unique ways I am using it. Maybe I’ll do a video on it in the future. Either way, you should be running this yourself too. Everyone should honestly. It’s basically Jarvis.
- The Warrior Tribe – Yes, this is my tribe that I’ve been intentionally developing for over 13 years now. We specialize in preparedness and optimal living. However, one of the key elements to our tribe is our accountability program. There’s just something about being accountable to a group of high performers like yourself that helps you stay on track. There’s a lot of really great benefits to being a member in our tribe though, I highly recommend checking it out and you can even get started totally free and start elevating your life day 1.
These 3 things combined have made me a lethal force in the face of my goals. I’ve never been so productive in my life but it goes so much deeper than productivity. I’ve never felt as aligned with my purpose, I’ve never been as healthy and fit as I am right now, and I am generally pretty happy about the progress we’re making across the board. There’s still a little cognitive lag that I am working through though. That’s kinda part of a dramatic life transformation though. There’s a lot more to be discussed when it comes to this topic though so I’ll be planning a video on it down the road. I’ll also be talking about it heavily in my next book. But I’m not going to give you any details on that just yet. 😉
For now, let’s get into the highs and lows of the past month, and talk goals for Q2!
HIGHLIGHT REEL
- New Music – Dropped 2 new songs! Wisdom dropped on my birthday and Good Girl dropped on Valentines Day. I also managed to get some good first pieces of social promo out for them which is always a lot of additional work. It’s hard to just be an artist and make music these days. Us indie artists have to be experts in content creation, marketing and advertising, etc. So I really appreciate any of you guys who rock with the Wolfgang. Your support means everything. Thank you. – Officially started metal production & optimized our template more also. Expect some awesome metal in the future when I really get it figured out!
- Cold Plunge – We finally got a proper cold plunge setup so we’re not confined to cold showers anymore and it’s been awesome. I’ve been doing cold exposure for a long time but having a real plunge to get fully submerged now has been great and it’s been a phenomenal tool for helping the kids learn about mastering their emotions and breathing and overcoming their fears. The wife has even started to do it with me too so it’s a whole family thing now. The benefits for recovery and mental discipline are insane and I recommend it for everyone.
- New Stuff – We got a new bed and couch for the house. I also picked up a productivity cube timer, and a new LED mic arm for the vocal booth. Small things that improve my creative environment and help me be even more productive.
- New Recovery Protocol – Part of training properly is prioritizing recovery efforts. It’s royally neglected in the world of fitness. I wanted to make better use of my rest days so I decided to create a new 1 hour recovery protocol that I do at minimum 2 days out of the week. I phased this in about a month ago and still need to tweak the routine a bit, but it covers things like 10 minutes in the cold plunge, 10 minutes in the sauna (or just a hot shower, work with what you got), balance drills, eye tracking drills, foam rolling or massage gun, even vocal exercises… Your protocols should be tailored to your training style and life demands.
- New Training Regimen – After years of trying to find the right trainer to replace my old coach Eddie (RIP brother), I finally found the right one with my new coach Shawn Dunn with Delphi Fitness. I’ve adjusted my training style and phased in a bit more athleticism. Right now him and I are working 1 session per week. I’m usually strength training 3-4 days a week, MMA 1-2 days, and I’ll take 2 active rest days. On those rest days I’ll hit some basketball with the kids, a bike ride, something light but fun. I’m trying to get my youthful speed and playful agility back. Shawn’s helping me diagnose my sciatica issue as well so I can get back to the fight game. Soon as I get this issue resolved so I can have a good fight camp without making the issue worse, I plan to get back into competing again.
- Family Fitness – Completed a 5 mile ruck run with Rowan & a normal 1 mile run with tank. We also aim for 2 MMA sessions per week too and have been pretty consistent. I do aim for one 5 mile ruck each month and we missed a couple so we’ll put some more priority on this moving forward.
- Basketball – I recently scored a nice $450 goal for $150 for the kids and I to be able to play ball here at home. Ball was definitely life for a huge part of my childhood and I have missed playing so much. It’s been really fun teaching them the game and getting my skills back. It’s a great activity for my “active rest days” too.
LOWLIGHT REEL
- Failed to complete all my big challenge non-negotiables like fasting and rucking. I did some, but not enough to satisfy my standards for discipline. Going to keep grinding and tracking data to know where I need to improve and buckle down harder.
- Parenting – It’s never easy and some seasons are better behaved than others. This last season was on the rougher side for us. As the kids get older their emotions run hot and heavy and they’re just learning how to navigate it. That said, we did end up having to crack down and do some grounding and butt whoopings. It’s never something I want to do. Which is why I created our kids “Little Warrior Rewards System” which is a points based gamification of their chores, school work, skills practices, and also rewards like screen time, ice cream, candy, trips, etc. Instead of busting ass or yelling, which I absolutely hate, the kids get to earn and see their efforts reflected in real time. If they act out, they get deductions and it costs them their digital dollars. This is a system we’ve been using for a few years now and it’s been great. The problem was we haven’t been diligent about deductions like we should have been. We fell into a pattern of threatening to do it but not following through. Moving forward we’re going to be leaning into this system more consistently because it really is a great behavior management tool.
- Operation: Traffic Jam – (The advertising campaign I’ve been building out for MASK Tactical & The Warrior Tribe). I kicked it off a couple months ago but I still haven’t gotten it off the ground yet. We burned a little cash testing the waters again and didn’t have any luck with conversions yet so I have some more funnel optimizing and campaign tweaking to do. For now we’ve paused to re-evaluate and make some changes then we’re going to give it another go.
-
Sickness bogged us down quite a bit. We went through 2 different bouts with it this quarter lasting almost 2-3 weeks which sucked.
-
We had a death in the family. It was unexpected, very unfortunate, and we had to spend some time comforting and caring for our loved ones.
-
Missed a bit of MMA and strength training due to sickness. However, even with the days missed I still put in mad work compared to most. I got gains and made progress so I’m happy with it. I’ve been about 92% consistent with my training regimen now for the last 5 years. That means 92% of the time, I train at minimum 5 days a week.
-
Low productivity on music – Between the death in the family, sickness, and business priorities, I wasn’t as productive with music projects as I like to be.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
PERSONAL
- BJJ Purple Belt – I’m happy to report that I’m actually going to be getting my purple belt and accomplishing this goal on this coming Monday. Should have gotten it last year but the stars didn’t align. All good though, I have arrived and now I’m setting the sights on brown belt next. Very happy to hit this milestone though.
- Health & Fitness – I have lost roughly 61 lbs since I began this transformation. I’ve been stuck between 220-225 for what seems like an unreasonable amount of time now. My nutrition discipline slipped a while back and I’ve struggled hard on breaking through this plateau. HOWEVER… I have recently kicked off a brand new nutrition plan, prepping, and I am incorporating a lot of new athletic movements into my training style with my coach Shawn. Trying to workout this sciatica problem. I am feeling pretty confident about breaking through the weight plateau this quarter though. I would like to see 210 lbs or less on the scale this quarter. Stretch goal is 200 lbs. Ultimate goal is to be about 175-185 lbs.
- House – Spring cleaning has commenced and we’re going to be resurfacing our kitchen counters and table soon. The outdoor workout pad I’ve been planning for awhile is just going to have to keep waiting for now unfortunately… We’re going to need to rebuild our main deck and get our fence finished. We also need new siding on the whole house. All things that cost big $ but we’re tackling them as quickly as we can. I am also planning on getting a pallet buster tool to start reclaiming old pallets for some projects around the house. Rowan wants to make a lemonade stand this year, and we need some more outdoor storage too so I was thinking I could just build some cheaply this way and also have some fun teaching the kids a thing or two in the process.
PRIMAL OPTICS
- My Music – I’m currently focused on writing for my debut album so most of the things I’m working on right now won’t be seen or heard till the album is completed. I’m also doing a lot of production exploration with metal in particular. I may do another collab or something soon. I’ve also toyed with the idea of doing some vocal covers in the metal genre to develop my sound a bit more. My main thing right now is focusing on this album and also creating promo content for my existing catalog. Let me know if you want to hear anything in particular from me?
- Live Music Stream – We still have some work to do here to get the live stream going for production, writing, and mixing sessions. Live reviews worked great and we just need to make some tweaks and start these other shows. This endeavor has unfortunately taken a back seat due to time constraints. We still totally plan on going deeper with this stream though. As soon as I can get Wrecktify back on grind mode we might be able to accomplish it. We’re both spread pretty thin on time right now while also trying to create music ourselves. We just need a bit more bandwidth to bring this stream to life. We’ll get there!
- Consulting – Currently building a new website for my coach Shawn’s fitness business. Also opening up my books for more client work in the web dev space. If you need a website, videography, photography, content creation, etc… Let me know! Check out my consulting services here.
-
Music Studio Services – I’m working on my service packages for my studio this quarter. My goal is to have them complete and deployed this quarter. I’ll be offering production, mixing and mastering, vocal recording, and full blown artist development things. I’m excited to get some experience working with more artists. If you’re interested in working with me on your music goals please reach out!
MASK TACTICAL
- Operation: Traffic Jam – We got the campaign live but didn’t make it off the ground yet. The campaign didn’t perform too well initially with conversions. All other data points looked good so we’re pausing for now to re-evaluate our sales funnel, discord server onboarding process, and creative tweaks to the ads. My goal for this quarter is to figure out what’s hindering conversions and continue optimizing and growing the campaign budget. It’s really easy to burn cash with advertising so I’m taking my time, and being extremely tactical about it. This is our primary goal right now so everything else is kinda taking a back seat to this.
-
The Primal Method Book – I still have to design new book mockups for marketing and SEO graphics, as well as create a nice video or two for advertising purposes. Something else we also need is good testimonials and reviews on the amazon listing. So, if you’ve read my book, it would mean the world to me if you could help out with this effort! Please get in touch.
-
Warrior Mission Program – We’re passively working on new missions for the Warrior Mission database. They take a lot of time to make but rest assured when we get Operation: Traffic Jam JAMMING, this program’s development will become a huge priority for us.
Why? Well, it’s a movement I am building for artists, entrepreneurs, music producers, and anyone interested in self-development. In the gang, I frequently share exclusive BTS content, education, tools to help you become a better creator, and so much more. It’s also a community for fans of my music. So, if you dig the tunes and content I create, I’d love to serve you even more on the inside. It’s free, always will be, and aligning with me only results in one thing… Growth. Massive growth in all aspects of life.
